With regards to stamping, what didn't you expect?

I did not expect to love it so much. I did not expect it to soothe my soul when I need soothing. I also did not expect the stamping community to be the way it is. I know of no other place on the internet where folks are so kind hearted. I've never had anyone say anything really bad about my cards. People are always kind. Usually if you put something out there for the world to see, at least one person has something not so nice to say. But not in this community...I've made so many wonderful friends with the best of hearts!

Don't forget about the PICK 3 Challenge this week. The focus is on designer papers! Also, we have the RubberStamp Ave mini contest going on. Both are listed at the top of my blog and can easily be found there.

And on to a challenge card..

Hopefully, this card covers the challenges at:
-Cooking It Up With Katie (Christmas theme with ribbon and any current sketch)
-Sweet Stop (sketch)
-Stamp with Fun (Little Presents theme-mine are unwrapped)
-Sophisticat (Christmas theme)
-There She Goes (minimum of 3 layers - I squeezed in 7)

What do you see when you imagine the perfect stamping space?

I see everything in my reach although that is completely impossible with all the supplies there are. But I would love to sit down and have everything right at hand. When I cook something with a recipe, I pull out all the ingredients first so they are right there when I need them. But with cards, I'm never sure what I might want or need...How about you? What's your idea of the perfect stamping space?

Don't forget to enter your creation into the PICK 3 Challenge. And we also have a RubberStamp Ave Mini Contest going on. Both links for the latest are right under my blog picture and title!

And speaking of challenges....My next card covers the challenges at Creative Corner (Christmas theme) and Charisma Cardz (red, green and white colors). Here's my card!

Stamps: Rearing Horse from RubberStamp Ave, Merry Christmas from Stampabilities

OUR PICK 3 TOP 3

Okay, it took a LOT of looking and thinking and rethinking, but I've got the TOP 3 PICKED! Ladies be sure to copy our PICK 3 TOP 3 banner to your blog! And Congratulations! Here, in no particular order, is our PICK 3 TOP 3!

First we have Jeanette's card. And she did indeed keep it simple...and elegant! I love that Jeanette used two different Cuttlebug folders on this, the paisley and the swirls. Looks great! And that border further enhances the look! Love the ribbon and the angels are just wonderful! Thank you so much Jeanette!

And next is Aimeslee's card. There are two pictures but it's only one card. Aimeslee had a situation and a solution. She knew a family who celebrated both Hanukkah and Christmas so she made one side of the card for each holiday! I thought this was a terrific, novel idea! Very creative, Aimeslee! Thanks bunches!

This is the other side of Aimeslee's card!

Keep scrolling down.....

And here is Sally's card. I just couldn't resist Sally's cute button tree! Love this idea. Love the white space and the edges of this card! Great way to present the sentiment too! Wonderful job Sally and thank you so much!

You can see the details for each of these creations by clicking on their names which will take you to their blogs!

Ladies, thank you SO much! I really, truly appreciate you playing along with the PICK 3 Challenge!

Is there someone in your life you wish would stamp with you

but you haven't quite convinced them yet?

YES! My hubby! He is so artistic! He will often sit with me while I stamp and make suggestions (good ones too) but whenever I ask him to sit down and make a card himself, he says "maybe someday". I dont' get it. I know he would be good at it from the suggestions he gives me. Do you have someone in your life you wish you could get stamping?

Lots going on here at Stamping Vacation....we have the PICK 3 Challenge every Monday morning and right now we have some special mini contests being sponsored by RubberStamp Ave. Be sure to get in on the phone. There are quick links to the challenge and the contest at the top of my blog. Have fun! And who knows, you could be a winner!

Here's the challenge card for today....

This meets the challenges at Incy Wincy (snowflakes-mine are on my ribbon) and Cupcake Craft Challenge (A Christmas Carol theme - I used the song "We Wish You a Merry Christmas")

Christmas at Home
Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Home scene from Stamping Ground, sentiment from Sonlight Impressions

I really like the way outlining the sentiment with a gold pen turned out. What do you think?

RubberStamp Ave Contest!

Remember, I mentioned that Kathy over at RubberStamp Ave was going to sponsor a series of short contests? Well, the time is here! We will have several week long mini contests and the randomly selected winners will be able to go over to RubberStamp Ave and pick a rubber stamp. The rubber stamp choice must be a stamp labeled "A" - "H". Other than that the choice is all yours! And Kathy will even mount the rubber for you!

So what do you have to do?

The first contest is very simple...just add RubberStamp Ave to your "places to shop" on your own blog. Once you've done that, just come back here and leave me a message on this post, letting me know that it's done. If you don't have a list of places to shop, just be sure to mention RubberStamp Ave in a blog post. That's it! And you have until midnight next Thursday to get it done!

AND...don't forget to play along with the PICK 3 Challenge. You can find that latest challenge right HERE! This week is all about keeping the card simple.

Now on to a challenge card...

This card is for the challenges at Truly Scrumptious (sketch) and Dutch Dare Card Challenges (color combo)
